A desk companion
A dimension arrives in inches. A datasheet gives pressure in bar. A recipe for a workshop material uses ounces. Often the first step is simply to express a familiar quantity in a different unit.
Caliper is built for that step. The calculator puts the result next to the input, and the reference explains which definitions are in use. The site is intentionally small enough to read from end to end.
Four quantities, defined carefully
The current reference covers length, mass, pressure and absolute temperature. It distinguishes mass from force, gauge pressure from absolute pressure, and temperature values from temperature differences.
It does not perform dimensional analysis, propagate uncertainty or replace a calibrated measurement. When a calculation matters to a specification, keep the original source value and check the applicable unit definition and rounding requirements.
Browse the definitions or read the calculation method.
The number stays in your browser
The calculator runs locally in your browser. Its code does not send input values or results to a server, use analytics, set cookies or write to browser storage. There are no accounts, sign-in forms or submissions.
Page and asset requests still reach the web server as part of ordinary browsing. This browser-level statement does not make a promise about server access logs or your browser’s own history. The site loads its scripts, styles and icon from this domain.
Readable with fewer dependencies
Navigation and controls work with a keyboard, inputs have visible labels, and result updates are announced to assistive technology. The layout adapts to narrow screens and uses system fonts.
The interactive calculator needs JavaScript. Reference tables, formulas and explanatory pages remain readable when JavaScript is disabled.
